GAW Miners Fury 1.3 Mh/s @ 45W Scrypt Asic Miner –
The GAW Miners Fury is a new scrypt based asic miner that can be used to mine scrypt based crypto-currencies like Litecoin. The advantage that the GAW Miners Fury has over conventional scrypt mining via GPUs is that the asic mining hardware uses less power and can be purchased a fraction of the cost that it would take to construct a traditional mining rig using GPUs.
The GAW Miners Fury is a new scrypt asic miner sold by GAW Miners. It is advertised as a 1.3Mh/s Scrypt Asic Miner operating at 45 watts and utilizing “55nm GAW Miners dedicated ASIC Scrypt(QFN Design)”. Although it isn’t mentioned anywhere on their site, you can compare the pictures below to those of the ZeusMiner Blizzard and you can see that the two asic miners are virtually identical. This belief is also reinforced on multiple bitcoin/litecoin mining forums where people discuss the hardware sold between the two companies as identical in every way except for the labeling.
The shipping of the GAW Miners Fury was delayed for a week by the supplier, but when the Fury was ready, it was shipped express mail via DHL from China.
Even though the GAW Miners Fury was shipped from China, the box that arrived looked identical to the one that we received when we ordered the ZeusMiner Blizzard from a local distributor in the US.
One difference was the extra amount of tape on one side of the box. Although this is entirely speculation it appears as though the box may have been attacked by some overzealous customs agents who hastily taped everything back together after being disappointed by what they found inside.
Once opened, you can see the GAW Miners Fury along with a blue USB cable and the power supply underneath it. It is worth pointing out that the packaging foam was cut to fit snugly around the unit, similar to how the GAW Miners Falcon was. This is different than how the ZeusMiner Blizzard was shipped, which was just in a plain cardboard box.
The next two pictures below shows that there was also damage to the inside of the box as well.
This shows the full contents of the package removed from the box.
One thing that wasn’t part of the shipment, but was added free of charge was a 6Pin ATX to DC Barrel Plug. This cable allows you to power your GAW Miners Fury or ZeusMiner Blizzard by hooking directly to your power supply instead of using the separate 12V power supply that comes with the unit.
Here is the top down view of the GAW Miners Fury.
Unlike the ZeusMiner Blizzard where both of the sides were plain, both sides of the GAW Miners Fury have the GAW Miners logo imprinted on them.
This is the back of the GAW Miners Fury:
The GAW Miners Fury has the same USB connection as the ZeusMiner Blizzard:
The GAW Miners Fury also has the same DC Barrel Plug connection as the ZeusMiner Blizzard
Performance of the GAW Miners Fury pretty much as expected with the power usage around ~45 watts and the hashrate a little over 1.3Mh/s using the modified version of BFGMiner.
